25 things

1. My solitude is my sanity.
2. I want a life that is totally mine and wish I could say "no" more often to the people closest to me.
3. Things I wish I could do but never will; learn music, become a pro surfer, shave my head*.
4. I've betrayed myself this year, and it was the best-learned lesson.
5. Meal prepping is the most surprising accomplishment of all.
6. I still miss people who don't always mean well.
7. My favourite past time remains to be the really late night drives, with or without friends, often to Brighton, and most usually while Ariana plays in the background (or Usher when I'm alone).
8. I'm more resilient than I thought, but I'm wary of turning into a cold woman because of it.
9. I continue to appreciate hard-hitting, heartbreaking truth over deception any day. Give it to me as raw as you can. I'll most definitely cry, but I'll only love/respect you all the more.
10. If I'm proud of anything it's quitting my last job.
11. The bestest of friends I have met (besides the select few from high school) I have found over the internet, and I consider myself the luckiest person in the world to know them.
12. Language is strange and has done more to separate me from others than it has to connect me.

13. Not absolutely everything is worth fighting for. Picking my battles is a skill, and I can't save everyone.
14. My family think I'm far more talented than I actually am. I'm incredibly grateful for it, but if anything, I'm just really good at becoming inspired (not motivated, but definitely inspired).
15. It's becoming progressively harder to develop strong and close friendships with women. I'm unsure as to why, but it wouldn't surprise me if the social pressure to "one up" each other rather than being in support of one another is largely responsible. People want to be liked but are suspicious when you appear "too happy" for them. It's exhausting and I'm almost done with trying.
16. I haven't completely mastered the art of asking questions, but it's something I'm very keen on learning.
17. Slowly but surely, I'm overcoming the constant need for chocolate in my life, and I welcome this change with open arms.
18. I've never loved my parents more than I do now.
19. I'm still a very impatient person and I'm not totally sure I'll ever change (or even want to? *bites lip*).

20. I finally feel like I need less to feel enough. This relates to shoes more than anything. I've learned to collect photos of things, not things themselves, and it's a big win.
21. Graduating is by far my most important priority at this point in time. It took me a while to get here, but I can now say NOTHING will stand in my way.
22. No matter my experiences, I still find myself paying fine after fine for breaking road rules.
23. "Selfies" are still weird for me.
24. Being "right" all the time is overrated, accepting defeat every now and then is humbling.
25. For the most part, and in the most non-conceited way possible, I have come to really love myself.

*might still happen.
